We’ve invited school students to lend their perspectives on one of our hottest topics; Artificial Intelligence (AI). Paul Twigg from Sierra Systems and Virginia Ashley from Microsoft facilitate a panel discussion to gain an understanding of how this technology is being used by today’s youth, and how it will help shape their future.

Topics discussed:

  • How today’s youth are already learning about AI and Machine Learning in their day to day lives and classrooms.
  • How we can enlighten our kids about AI so they’re skilled in an increasingly prevalent technology subject matter.
  • Check out some real-world examples of artificial intelligence and machine learning interactive projects that our youth can create.

Venice Anderson is 14 years old, and going into grade 9. She lives in Victoria, BC, and is interested in cosplay, acting, writing, stage crew, and art.

Aiden Twigg is 15 years old and will be attending William Aberhart High School in Calgary in fall. When he is not playing basketball he has interests in debate, robotics and all things science.

Naz Neal is a high school student in the 10th grade, technology & GNU/Linux enthusiast. He has worked with the Winnipeg Transit API, and volunteered as ambassador of the Spain pavilion during the summer of 2018 with Folklorama.
