Sierra Systems has an exciting opportunity for Integration Developers with exceptional communication and problem solving skills. The chosen candidates will participate in ground breaking projects using the most advanced tools in the industry. As a Developer with Sierra Systems’ Atlantic location you will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting custom application and integration software for a variety of business applications and industries.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

- Work closely with and under the direction of the Project Manager
- Senior development/architecture resource for projects
- Manage comprehensive testing process from unit to system test
- Modeling of application and database solutions
- Working in a team environment to meet specific project timelines and quality targets

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- Currently, we are looking for intermediate and senior application developers with knowledge and experience in architecting, developing and testing applications with the following design approaches and tools:
    - Java/J2EE
    - Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
    - Web Services experience
    - NetBeans IDE
    - XML / XSLT
    - Oracle 9i or 10g
    - SQL Server
    - The majority of our work occurs in Halifax, periodic travel to client locations for familiarization and key project activities can be required.
- Desirable Criteria include:
    - Systems Analysis experience
    - JBI / OpenESB
    - Healthcare Integration / HL7
    - Rational Unified Process
- University degree in computer science or equivalent
- Minimum 2-5 year’s industry experience in application development with a significant concentration in Java/J2EE
